Laughter Yoga tapped me into my inner childlike playfulness and helped heal my heart. It was there in dark times and kept me lighthearted, and youthful and was a light during dark times.

Karmen an original Florida native became a certified yoga teacher in 2004 she taught yoga and laughter yoga for many years til becoming a full-time massage therapist where she would teach these classes on the side. Growing up she remembers a whole lot of laughter growing up in her family, with friends, and in school. It wasn’t until she met Dr. Madan Kataria when she was going through a difficult time in her life, that she realized laughter can be very therapeutic. It was as if this was sent down from heaven to help her cope during these hard times. There were also many times she had to teach classes wondering how she could laugh after such a stressful situation or hard day. Yet, the evidenced-based practice of laughter yoga always proved to work after teaching a class she always felt her mood shifted and uplifted.
